The Chairman and Chief Executive of one of the 7 UK schools to operate Tecnams in the flight training role, says::
“We are confident that with our school's support for this very exciting product range Tecnam will strengthen its position as an already highly respected aircraft manufacturer. In addition to the 7 certified models (above) there are 10 more models which are not certified by the UK CAA / EASA standards as they are certified either as US-LSA for the USA market or as European Ultralight, neither of which appear on the UK register. These include the P92 as microlight, taildragger, floatplane and skiplane, a single-seat aerobatic aeroplane called the SNAP, the ASTORE and the newly upgraded version of the Sierra, now Sierra Mk 2, for the USA market (which may be EASA certified in time). The UK LAA will not certify factory-built Tecnams, only homebuilt Tecnams, through a qwerk in the regulations. (There are no new homebuilt Tecnam kits available).
